Outdoor Excitement
- An unparalleled golf experience awaits you on one of our four championship golf courses.
- Play a round of disc golf on Shanty Resorts’ 9 hole disc golf course at Schuss Mountain. Discs can be purchased at the Schuss Main Lodge.
- Stop by the Lakeview Fitness Center to gear up for a day of mountain biking or a casual ride through beautiful downtown Bellaire. Transportation is available to take riders and their bikes to Schuss Village to ride through our miles of off road trails. We can even drive you to the top of Schuss Mountain! If a more leisurely ride is what you seek, our shuttle can transport you to downtown Bellaire where you can ride through downtown, stop for ice-cream, or take the bike path to the park.
- Rent a GPS unit and navigate your way through our 4,500 acres to caches around the resort. GPS units can be rented at the Lakeview Fitness Center.
- Take in the magic and excitement of an outdoor movie in Shanty Creek’s own back yard. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a family movie under the stars. Admission is free. Snacks will be available for purchase. Movies start at dusk. Located in Summit Village outside of the indoor pool. Fridays and Saturdays.
- Fun and excitement happens at Camp Gandy with a new theme each week. Our program features activities including hiking, crafts, field trips and swimming.
- Tour our picturesque acreage with a nature-focused Walk-About hike while searching for distinct Northern Michigan “treasures.” Following the hike we will spend some time turning the treasures you found into a souvenir for you to take with you. Hikes take place on Wednesdays at Schuss Village.
- If tennis is your racquet, Shanty Creek Resorts has courts to add excitement to your getaway. Tennis racquets and balls are available in the Lakeview Fitness Center.
- The Great Race; GPS Scavenger Hunt. Clues and coordinates guide you around the resort. The first team to collect all their clues and reach the final destination wins a prize. Saturdays at Summit Village
- Join us on the Summit Practice Green for a putt-putt style game of Goofy Golf. Our Resort Mascot Gandy Goose will be there to join in the action. Fridays at Summit Village
- Family Lawn Games; join us on the lawn at Summit village before the outdoor movie and enjoy games like bocce ball, beanbag toss, ladder ball, and horseshoes.
- FREE Recreation Equipment Sign Out: Enjoy tennis, bocce ball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and more. Equipment available at the Lakeview Fitness Center.
- Splash and play at the indoor and outdoor pools located at Schuss and Summit Village. Outdoor pool at Cedar River available for guests staying at Cedar River.

Indoor Fun
- Join us for a tour of the Old Mission Wineries. Lying on the 45th parallel, this tour includes stops at three award-winning wineries. Trips depart Saturdays at 1pm. Minimum participation required. $50 per person.
- Looking to add the excitement of gaming to your stay. Shuttle service to and from the Turtle Creek Casino is available Saturday evenings. Minimum participation is required. $20 per person.
- Looking for the perfect way to end the day? Check out one of our board games or bedtime books available at each front desk.
- Video arcade games are located near the indoor pool at the Lakeview Hotel.
- Creek Creations: Create a souvenir from your stay with us. Variety of projects available. Saturdays at the Lakeview Hotel. Small fee for materials.
- Splash and play at the indoor pools located at Schuss and Summit Village.
